Various tidbits:
- Paris Hilton is, among other things, the postmodern answer to Nietzsche's Übermensch:
- Apparently, 19th century atheists had all the fun:
- And finally, our beloved Bolshevik-in-Chief Robert Fico used to be an ardent supporter of the death penalty (even wrote a book on the subject many moons ago) but now he agrees with the EU that Saddam should't be executed. Cue Jon Stewart: "Awkward..."

- Paris Hilton is, among other things, the postmodern answer to Nietzsche's Übermensch:
Paris, on the other hand, trumpets her name-your-pleasure promiscuity in a way that speaks only of unthinking, careless decadence. It’s not that she is a working girl willing to go too far to sell her next record album; it’s that she is above morality. She can do whatever she wants, and she’s proud to rub your nose in that fact day after day. How could you not hate someone who thinks she doesn’t have to live in the same world as the rest of us?Or maybe not. (Via ADL)
- Apparently, 19th century atheists had all the fun:
Britain had its first openly loud and proud atheist MP, one Charles Bradlaugh, in the 1880. Because Bradlaugh, a liberal individualist - fine fellow, refused to take the oath and was denied the opportunity to take an affirmation he was unable to take his seat in the House of Commons and so a by election was called. He was re-elected four times in succession and it wasn't until 1888 when a new Oaths Act was passed that he was able to legally take his seat. Bradlaugh put many noses out of joint with his brazen advocacy of atheism. He would come on stage at meetings, take his watch out of his pocket and give God one minute to strike him down. It didn't happen of course, for the same reason there are lightning conductors of church towers: because there is no god.
