I just read the funniest thing since Walker, Texas Ranger hit the TV screens. This man, the Slovak foreign minister, Fred Flintstone is rumoured to be among the possible candidates for the new UN Secretary General after the highly peccable Kofi Annan steps down nex year. Well, the minister said so himself, when asked by the Associated Press (here - SME daily article, in Slovak). I guess those rumours about Kwasniewski were started by Kwasniewski himself as well? (And of course the AP is running with the story ... not!)Eduard Kukan (since you insist on using our illustrious foreign minister’s real name) stated that he doesn’t think the next candidate will be from Europe anyway and I can only agree. Firstly it wouldn’t be very multi-culti if it were a European nor would it be kosher to elect someone like Kukan or Kwasniewski with their well-known communist past. That would be akin to electing someone with a Nazi past some 30 years ago. And as we all know that could never happen!
